Crispy chicken burger with free-range chicken

The Crispy Chicken Burger is a delicious interpretation of the hamburger that impresses with its preparation and unique taste!

Ingredients

For the chicken:

 

  • 2 Nature & Respekt Free-range chicken breast fillets
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika powder
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 egg (for the breading)
  • 100 g flour
  • 100 g cornflakes (crushed)
  • 100 ml buttermilk
  • 500 ml vegetable oil (for frying)

For the burgers:

 

  • 4 burger buns (brioche)
  • 4 slices of cheese
  • Salad
  • Tomatoes, sliced
  • Cucumber, sliced
  • 1 red onion, in rings
  • Dijon mustard
  • Mayonnaise
  • Ketchup

Preparation

  1. Cut the chicken breast fillets in half to make four pieces. Rub with salt, pepper, paprika powder and thyme. Sprinkle with chopped garlic.
  2. Place the buttermilk in a bowl and marinate the chicken for 30 minutes.
  3. Whisk the egg and have the flour and cornflakes ready. Coat the chicken pieces in the flour, dip in the egg and roll in the cornflakes.
  4. Heat the oil in a pan to 175°C. Fry the chicken until golden brown (approx. 5-7 minutes per side). Drain on kitchen paper.
  5. Cut the burger buns in half and toast lightly. Spread ketchup and mayonnaise on the bottom half of the bun. Place a chicken fillet on top. Top with tomatoes, onion rings, lettuce, cucumber and cheese. Add a dollop of Dijon mustard.
  6. Serve the crispy chicken burgers hot, preferably with chips or a fresh salad.
